Hey!
My name is Mya, originally from South African but currently living in Israel.
I've taken a break from life to travel and get fresh inspiration.
I have been working in tourism for most of my life, the last company i managed was for culinary tourism.
I also had the privilege of being the COO of a non profit - A farm and laboratory for ecological research and study.

im very passionate about traveling and learning about different ways people live around our lovely globe.
I love getting to know new cultures and meeting new people, picking up new skills and interests to be passionate about.

I highly appreciate people letting me in to their home and sharing their passion and space with me.
Really excited to learn about , agriculture, building, animals, cooking, new languages and pretty much any thing you can throw at me!

I have my fair share of experience in project managing, strategizing & marketing.
One of my main hobbies is photography and I always travel with my camera so tell me if you need some nice pics and I'll do my best.
More than happy to share any knowledge I have!

I love nature and urban living as well so I'll always find what to enjoy no matter where i am.
I would love company but also very accustomed to entertaining myself so easy going!

Tal and i spent almost 3 weeks with Keith, Debs and the dogs in the beautiful rural France and it was such a lovely time!!
they were extremely nice to help us out when we got a bit stuck on our travels and welcomed us before schedule - which is much appreciated!!
both Debs and Keith are super attentive and caring people, debs will always make sure… read more you have every thing you need and quick to offer help if possible! she is able to whip up lunch from any thing and always ready for a good laugh!
Keith spoiled us rotten with amazing food from around the world - we literally ate food from a different country every night! he is a quiet person with strong opinions but at the same time easy going with loads of funny and interesting stories!

the area is just beautiful - vines as far as the eye can see, charming little villages & towns, lovely markets, all kinds of local produce-especially armagnac & wine (which we had plenty of).

the work - there is a usual routine during the week which was fairly easy and very necessary that most of it is the care of the dogs - walking, feeding, cleaning the kennels, grooming etc.. feeding and collecting the eggs from the chickens and ducks, a bit of cleaning and tiding the house.
the rest of the time our task were varied: maintenance in the house, cleaning the shed and generally every thing that has to be done when winter ends! we also helped with a stunning summer house they take care of-cleaning, fixing up, organizing & gardening.
when it came to working hours Debs and Keith were very aware that we dont work more than the 5 hours or to make sure we get any overtime back, but truthfully we always felt like it went so quick and were prepared to work more!

about the dogs.. they are amazing!!!!! so much love from so many different personalities!! we could truly go on and on about each and every one of them cause we had bonded with them all (we had great conversations, bon bon was very opinionated..) i mean how amazing is it to finish a days work in the freezing weather and having a good cuddle with at least 3 dogs at the same time?!

we cant explain the admiration we have for Keith & Debs for saving all their lives, it just shows a lot of love and selflessness and no wonder so many volunteers find their way to them!
we had great experience living and learning from you guys and would love to come again in the future and of course we highly recommend any one else that has the chance !!
