Description
Hi!
My name is Sophia. I live in Oxford, England but I am from Cape Town, South Africa where I live with my parents, my younger brother, my 2 cats and my 3 dogs. I am a passionate musician, artist, and animal-lover! I am an academic (specialising in anthropology, specifically southern African migration, and labour), and a researcher.
I am an adventure-lover and am fascinated with different cultures and languages other than my own.
I am easy-going and am always willing to help with absolutely anything, and learn new things.
I have experience with fundraising and charity work: I was the co-organiser of a fund at my university helping students overcome difficulties inhibiting their educational experience.
I have volunteered on farms and in hostels, and love to travel by making families in these new places.
I look forward to meeting new people (and animals ;) ) and going on adventures!

More details about your skills
I am lucky enough to have grown up in a family who have helped me develop a variety of skills, ranging from practical to creative.
I have taken a first-aid course specializing in toddlers and babies which allows me to work in childcare. As I am a high-school student, I find babysitting a time-efficient and highly rewarding work.
My mother is musical and encouraged me to begin playing both the violin and piano. This musical skill helped me gain a music scholarship at my high-school in Cape Town. I love music, be it listening or performing, and have recently completed my Grade 8 violin exam.
My father is an ex-farmer and a hardware-store owner. He has helped me develop handy practical skills: from helping wash the dogs to fixing a light bulb.
I am lucky enough to have artistic skill: I take visual art as a school subject. Besides creating art, I love watching art being made and visiting local galleries.
I am a peoples-person: I have organised many school events and thoroughly enjoy interacting with people of different ages and professions.
