Hello there! I'm Siew Lim, a Malaysian who loves travelling in a 'nomadic' way. I worked as a subtitle editor after graduating from university. Then I quit my job and became a freelance Chinese-English translator. Chinese is my mother tongue - both Mandarin and Cantonese. I have good command of English and I speak conversational Malay. I learned Japanese and French before although I might be a little rusty now >_< Learning new languages is kind of my passion.
I first traveled alone in China when I was an exchange student there. I like to have freedom in planning my own trip even though it's a shame when you don't have anyone to share good food with. As compared to going on short trips, I prefer staying at one place for longer time to observe the local's ordinary life. I enjoy making new friends, immersing myself in new culture and interacting with people.
I used to work and travel for twenty days in Taiwan, helping with cleaning and preparing breakfast in a guesthouse. It was a precious experience and I always want to do it again. I'm easygoing and independent. I'm untalented, but I'll always do my best to help you out. I don't mind getting my hands dirty for meaningful tasks. I love taking photos and capturing the moments, but I'm still an amateur. In terms of food, I'm not a fussy eater and I would love to try anything as long as you say it's good.
Looking forward to meeting you!
