Hi!

My name is Ewa, I'm an open-minded and positive person. Love to travel, eat (and cook), climb, study, and spend quality time with quality people ;)

Soon to work & travel in NZ!
Ready to discover more of the world, learn new skills, understand cultures, and have fun ;)

Last 3 years have been quite eventful with studying Adventure & Outdoor Education in Finland and working as a Tour Leader in Scandinavia.

I have worked and lived in a few countries (Poland, USA, France, Finland & Norway). Currently tourism industry is my main professional path, and my experience consists of various jobs, such as Northern Lights Guide in Tromso (Norway), Safari Guide in Levi (Finland), and City Guide in Cracow (Poland). I went through working in a supermarket, call center, mountain huts, fruit picking, cooking, and babysitting, so the approach of not being afraid of any sort of job is still present ;)

I believe that communication is the key to solving most of life's issues and I am open to various types of work while doing work-away.

In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors, climbing, and practicing yoga. I speak Polish, English & French. I believe that my strengths are: to do attitude, problem-solving skills, communication skills, and a good sense of humor ;)

My voluntary service story took 2 amazing weeks!

From the work perspective: I arrived on the boat on Sunday and HOP! We were having a tour! I had previous hospitality experience but not on the boat, but Tim very quickly showed up to be a perfect host, explaining me everything in a very clear way, always being cool, and giving me the impression… read more that I knew more than I actually did at the beginning ;) This made me feel confident, very quickly! The first week we were working 6 days in a row (normally the work is 5 days, 2 days off but this year is still post covid craziness a bit;)) which was much but at the same time I was so happy to work there and learn something new every day. Then we had a weekend break and the second week finally turned out to be less busy so we had time to make the boat more shiny, do some maintenance on the deck, under the boat and finally work couple more tours at the end of my stay ;) All that's written on Tim's profile is absolutely correct! Sometimes it gets difficult because of the heat but what's all around will recompensate you this small inconvenience ;)

From an after-work perspective: We had so much fun! We laughed much! We talked over many many subjects: generations, war, movies, history, boats, music, food, life stories. We swam, spent time with dog/s - there's always Molly which is the most lovely dog ever and I had a chance to spend one week with another dog that Tim was taking care of - Bertie - naughty puppy who made me remember him so well ;) I usually cooked in the evening (5-10 min preparations meals) and Tim would clean. He cooked sometimes too! We spent time together often but if I wanted or needed to be alone - Tim was always very respectful ;)

From my personal point of view: What a time, really... what a time! I was watching the description of this workaway experience hoping that's gonna be so great but then of course having a feeling "what if not, what if I won't manage the work, what if we won't get along?" and any of this didn't happen. It was brilliant, from day one, every day was special. Being on the boat is a big part, but Tim is another making it special! Great teacher, great listener, FUN person ;) He made me overcome my "jumping to the water fear" which was a big deal for me. He even taught me diving off the boat (which I taught it's completely impossible for me). For the first time in my life, I saw phosphorescence, got a real introduction to sailing life, and got a great friend who even called me a sailor on the last day of our 2 weeks!

Tim. if I will ever be a big sailor (now I'm just a petite one) very big part of it will be thanks to you!
Overall experience: 11/10 ;)
We will see again captain! ;)
