Description
Hi I'm Simon !
I'm an adventure seeker, part-time explorer, navigating through life since 1993.
I was born and raised in France, I have then studied, worked or volunteered in several places across our amazing European continent, and I am now spending some free time in New Zealand and Australia, learning about Kiwis and Australians way of life.
Whenever I'm off somewhere far from France, I like to wander around the country for a fairly long time rather than having some short-term holiday. That's why I occasionally use Workaway, it's a good way to have a grounded insight of how's life in that new place I'm exploring.
I see myself as an easy-going person, curious person, good listener, a bit introvert at times, and always up to something, I thrive in being active. I'm an outdoor sport person, tramping is my thing, I also like water sport such as kayaking, sailing, I'd love to learn surfing, I have basics in kitesurfing. I used to bike around a lot back in France, it's such a cool way to move!
I want to keep it short so I'll stop here, but if you want to know more just contact me
Cheers, Simon.Interests

More details about your skills
I like to see things as an adventure, so I'm usually up for any kind of volunteering work. I'm especially triggered by things I don't know about, so I can learn by doing.
I have a college degree in agriculture (MSc), I've mainly studied farming, soil sciences, agro-ecology, and natural resources management (water, biodiversity, ... ). I could most likely help you in any project related to farming, gardening, eco-projects, animal care, composting ... I grew up in a farm back in France, and have worked in several animal farms.
I'm definitely not the best cook, but I know my way through a kitchen and I always cook my meals. I hate throwing food away so I find it funny to be creative and make up a yummy dish with leftovers. I have always had housemates, so trust me, I know the importance of have a balanced and regular housekeeping work! I can adapt to every diet.
Beside that, I'm handy, I like to be active and to do things, so all project involving maintenance or repair I could be helpful. I have a basic knowledge for use of tools (woodwork, paint, concrete).
I'm fluent in English, I have an intermediate level of Spanish. I'm french-native, so I can help anyone who'd like to learn.
Just so you have an idea, here are some previous Workaway project I was involved in :
Assisting water sport instructor, general maintenance and repair (in a sailing school, kite surf school).
Help in designing a terrasse garden and creating a compost station.
Helping an English summer school with new study material and organizing trips for student.
Property maintenance including gardening, fixing shed, painting, and odd jobs around the house.Age

I've spent almost 3 months at Patric's place and I was sad to leave. Patric and Pheobe are great hosts, they made me feel at home. The house is very chill, super close to the beach, far from busy places. I got to know the kitesurf world and could take part of it, which I have really appreciated.
Work was clear from day one: keep… read more
