Hello Workawayers!

I'm Piet (short for Pierre), I have been travelling from Belgium to Australia by land and sea the last 3 months.

I love nature, sport and music. I am curious and like to stay active, but also chill sometimes (I love naps). I also like reading and I like to learn new skills and also share what I know.

I've been hooked to surf since I am 15, I want to travel in Australia to surf most of the time, but also want to visit the country and work in a job that suits to my environmental and social values.

I'm conscious and pretty worried about the impact that we humans have on the planet. I studied environmental engineering in Belgium, it helped me understand more about the dynamics that make the situation go wrong... and also trying to find solutions.
I soon realised that as an engineer, you are formed to be kind of a tool, that is needed to solve complex problems. That's for the "how". But when it comes to the "why do we do that" and the "what do we do next", it needs more than engineers to find the answer. I believe that all fields of our knowledge contain a part of the answers we need.

Living and working with the locals is the best way to discover a country. Can't wait to meet you !
