  • Description

I am a Swiss/American girl who has been based in Spain for over 7 years. I am fluent in English and Spanish and have a high level of French.

Over the past decade, I have also travelled and lived in South Africa, Asia and around Europe. I work as a research/consultant/writer focused on sustainable food systems and climate justice. I am traveling in South America for the first half of 2025 with the intention to have more lived experience and understanding around these passions: i.e., regenerative agriculture, permaculture, food as medicine, indigenous and cultural wisdom, cuisines, and perspectives towards nature (how we see nature changes how we treat her).

I have studied from many perspectives—anthropology, critical media studies, sustainability, health (Traditional Chinese Medicine + Ayurveda), etc. I am also a 200 hr certified vinyasa yoga teacher, and my own practice has influenced my perspective and intention of volunteering as I travel. I love to share and connect with others through the practice of yoga and would be happy to teach classes. I have loved my previous workaway experiences—one of the first farms I worked on became a second "family" for me in Europe. I am an admirer of art and music and I love painting and photography. I personally have been shooting both digital and analog photography for over 15 years, and this is another skill I can offer. I have some experience with social media and digital design (but not professional).

I am a generally active person. I love to have deep conversations about philosophy and the world and life. I am very interested in learning more about other cultures—the beliefs, thoughts, and ways of being. I always am happy to help in the kitchen and eager to learn about new cuisines and dishes!

I have a gluten allergy (I am not celiac), which I can easily accommodate after 8 years. This basically means that I cannot eat wheat, i.e., pasta/bread/wheat flour. Outside of Europe I find this to be less of an issue, as there are many more foods with a corn/rice base. I have had no problems with previous travels accommodating my intolerances.
