Description
Hi, my name is Sammie! I am a 34-years old. I am originally from Chicago, but have called Montana home for the last 7 years. For the last 4 years, my dog Charlie (12 lbs and around 8 years old) and I have been living full time in a truck camper and travelling around the western. Montana was too cloudy in the winters, and I struggle with seasonal depression, so I decided to become a snowbird/van lifer so I could be happier! I return to Montana in the summers, and follow the sun in the winters.
I work full time (Monday-Thursday) as the Director of Marketing and Communications for a Montana-based nonprofit called Abundant Montana. Our mission is to fill more plates with local food for a more abundant Montana future. Basically, we're working to better Montana's food system so it's more resilient and reliable! I am UBER passionate about local food and growing my own food.
I have been loving being on the road full time, but I'm looking to slow down a little and spend more time at home stays and workaways for longer periods of time to give myself and Charlie a bit more stability.
I have experience in gardening, and would love to help someone build and maintain their garden.
I am also looking to gain (even more) skills in farming, gardening, raising animals, building houses and repair/maintenance on houses/buildings!
I am able to help early in the mornings before work, after work, or on the weekends, Fri-Sun.
I would love to live with people around my age who enjoy cooking together, game nights, going to walks with Charlie, hiking, etc. Community is really important to me.
