My name is Samantha and I am a high school French teacher based in Brooklyn, New York. I'm looking for opportunities in the Francophone world to brush up on my French and (re)expose myself to French culture. I'm passionate about travel, food, and education as a social justice issue. I've engaged in meaningful volunteer work since I was a kid, through opportunities that include:
-removing invasive plant species in the forests of northern California
-leading a volunteer work in rebuilding efforts in post-Katrina New Orleans
-training adolescent girls to run a 5K to build fitness and self-esteem
-serving as a reading buddy for elementary school-age children to foster confidence and literacy
-organizing a resume-writing workshop for homeless women in Miami
These experiences have been extremely rewarding and enlightening, and I look forward to continuing this work abroad!

I am a high school French teacher with a master's in teaching. Before I became a teacher I worked in nonprofit management in marketing and event-planning. I don't have much experience in farming or gardening - I did maintain a community garden plot for several years in South Florida - but I love to be outside and get my hands dirty! I'm also a lifelong animal lover.
