Description
Hello. My name is Saki Yamada.
I'm Japanese, and 28 years old.

I have stayed Denmark since October 2018, and I have been højskole which is offers non-formal adult education. I'm interested in permaculture, so I took the classes of permaculture, gardening, building and cooking in the højskole.

After højskole, I have volunteered in organic farms in Denmark, Finland and Portugal. I wanted to keep traveling and learning other countries like France, Germany, Italy..., but I didn't make it because of covid-19 :(

I came back to Japan, and I worked at an organic farm in Chiba for two years from 2021, where I mainly produced herbs and edible flowers. I also learned a little bit about growing native vegetables and beekeeping.

I am planning to visit and work at various organic farms in New Zealand 2024 and Europe again 2025!

◯my favorite things
・Being in the nature, especially near the water place like ocean, lake, river...
・Working in the garden, touching the soil. Even though just weeding I enjoy it :)
・Taking care of the animals like dogs, cats, horses, caws, sheeps, goats, chickens, ducks, and more!
・Cooking. I'm not so good at, but I like to make veggies food! and I'd like to know new recipes from all over the world!

In Japan, I studied early childhood education at university. I got teacher licenses of kindergarten, nursery school, and special education school. I really like to talk and work with people ( not only chlldren ).

My parents are tomato farmer, they are also have own vege garden and rice fields. I used to help them when I was in Japan, I really like farm work. Also I like to cook!

Also I had helped some renovation projects, I don't have knowledge of architecture, but I'm interested in, so I also like to help these kind of things!

In her 2 week visit she spent many hours attending to the garden. From preparing more beds for the sweet potatoes - hard, grunt work....

It was an absolute pleasure to have Saki with us, she came for 3 weeks and then with the Covid situation she stayed with us for 3 months, and we couldn't have asked for a better person to pass these 3 lockdown months with.

I had stayed sofia's place from November to January and June. So I could experience Finish winter and mid summer.
