Description
Hello Workaway community! A little summary of how I came to pursue travel: When I was a boy my Grandma(who sold her pottery at shows), took me on road trips across the US. During these trips I would often be the one in charge of looking at maps and directing us. I believe these trips planted a seed that would lead to a love of travel, geography and exploring the unknown. Since then, I have traveled to 49 of 50 US states(got to get to Alaska), and 17 countries(including 3 1/2 months in the Balkan region in 2022). While I have spent most of my time in life working and living in my home state of Washington, I have continued to pursue adventure when I can. While at home I have worked in restaurants, forestry, organic farming, construction etc, and these are the skills I can offer potential hosts. My motivation in joining workaway is to provide mutually beneficial opportunities for myself and hosts while traveling. It would be difficult to spend much time in some of the more expensive countries I'd like to explore, and being able to share my skills could provide me with an opportunity to stay longer and get to know a place better, while also helping a local with their work/projects/needs. I really enjoy getting to know new people and intend to foster lifelong relationships through travel experiences. Starting in February of 2024 I intend to head to Iceland and then the Faroe Islands and many places beyond!
