Hello! My name is Rocío, I’m a 26 year old woman from Madrid, Spain.
I’m a sociologist, social causes and understanding our world has always been my passion. Since I was a teenager I’ve been involved in social initiatives and there’s nothing I love more than a good conversation (besides nature. And food, I do love some good food). I just finished a masters in finance, because there was a part of the world I didn’t understand and it was a point of view I didn’t have. All this is to say that I’m very open minded and I’m always looking for ways to expand my perception and understanding of life.
I have done two previous workaways, one in a B&B and coffee farm in Hawaii and the other volunteering for a Norwegian NGO fighting against plastic pollution, we lived in sailboats and were cleaning remote islands of the Artic. I’m a tutti frutti of experiences!

I’m good with people, because I love interacting with everyone and because it is also my job. I have experience with kids too and I usually end up with them (or they with me) in every social gathering. Animals are also part of my life, my family has a farm/ranch and I’ve grown up with cows, sheep, horses, chickens, dogs, cats…

Why do a work away now?
After my first years of work, I’m now looking at my professional career in a different way. I’m trying to figure out what is it that I want and need to do with my time here, and I know for me going to a different country and learning from new people has always helped understand and see things a little better.
