Description
I’m Robin from the UK. I studied French and Economics at the University of Leeds and have worked as a French teacher in London, and more recently in professional services — a fast-paced environment that’s taught me a lot about communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.
I speak English (native), French (fluent), and Spanish (intermediate), with a bit of German and Portuguese, and I’m always keen to improve. Outside of work, I love cooking (especially for groups), making and playing music (I DJ, play the trombone, and produce my own tracks), photography, and staying active through hiking, running, and cycling.
From January 2026 to January 2027, I’ll be taking a sabbatical to explore more of the world, meet new people, and immerse myself in different languages and cultures. I’m especially interested in volunteering at hostels from February to May 2026 — ideally somewhere social, lively, and full of energy.
I’ve previously volunteered in hostels across Spain, Portugal, and Hungary, taking on roles like reception, bar work, cleaning, and organising guest activities. I love the atmosphere of hostels — that mix of travel, friendship, and community.
I’d describe myself as organised, reliable, and easy-going, and I’m happiest when I’m part of a positive, sociable team. If you think I’d be a good fit for your hostel, feel free to get in touch — I’d love to chat! -

Feedback
On the positive side, most of the staff and the owner (Lev) are lovely and I am really grateful for what they shared about their experiences and life in Oaxaca. It's a really cool city with so much interesting stuff going on. The hostel itself has excellent facilities including very comfy beds and a good co-working … read more
