Hello! I'm Robin, I'm from Vancouver Island, BC;

I grew up on a remote fishing lodge, where I developed a love for nature, people, and animals. I thrive in social environments, always happy to be outdoors and animals have been my biggest passion for as long as I can remember! I love dogs and horses, and have a strong interest in animal training and behaviour.

We have hired many international workers (including workawayers) at our lodge, which inspired me to sign up as soon as I turned 18. I am very drawn to the connection, sharing of culture and lifelong friendships that growing up in the tourism/hospitality industry brings.

I want to broaden my knowledge of the world and other cultures, learn languages, develop new skills, and form meaningful relationships. I am a Christian and I'm always interested to hear other points of view and have open discussions.

I have a lot of experience in housekeeping, kitchen work, hospitality, long hours, and the overall function of a resort. My work style is very thorough and detail oriented. I also assist in meal prep and training other employees. I really enjoy the hospitality/tourism industry and service related work. I work in retail and as a pet sitter during the winter so I have good customer service & communication skills. I also love kids! I'm always happy to help out with childcare, babysitting, chores etc.

I don’t have many manual skills but I’m willing to learn just about anything. I do love to cook and learn new authentic recipes!

My biggest passion is animals, so any kind of animal-related work is my favourite. I love dogs and have lots of experience working various breeds, ages, and temperaments. I have ridden horses for a few years, my riding level is basic and I would love to improve. I recently completed my first Workaway experience which involved looking after 13 horses, 3 dogs, plus cats and chickens.
