Description

Hi! I am Kai from Hong Kong. I am now in Australia with a working holiday visa until September 2024. Currently in Queensland.

I find joy in immersing myself in nature, as well as connecting with people from diverse backgrounds and exchanging stories. Being able to contribute my skills and knowledge while learning from others brings me a sense of fulfillment. I am new on Workaway but I have been active and volunteering on HelpX for some time now. I am always interested in work related to nature/ environment/ animals and plants.

I have 6 years of experience working at a botanical garden in Hong Kong as a nature educator, reforestation coordinator as well as certified arborist. I also had experience at a farmstay in Hong Kong, practicing organic farming, basic construction and site maintenance for 3 months. These allow me to contribute effectively to educational, environmental and sustainable projects. After I came to Australia, I have been working at different farms and nurseries and gained many hands-on skills in agriculture and horticulture. I have obtained white card, working with children check (volunteer), ChemCert, first aid and chainsaw certificates in Australia.

During my time in Australia, I have had the opportunity to stay with several hosts and assist them with various tasks such as gardening, cleaning, cooking, animal care, and site maintenance. I am self-motivated and willing to learn!
