We are Ross (24) and Emma (22)! We met at the University of California in Davis and have been together for a little over a year and a half. We love traveling together, whether it’s driving up the Pacific Coast Highway for a week, or hopping trains across Europe. Some of our favorite pastimes include hiking, picking fruit on long walks, greeting dogs, and writing letters to each other. We hope we’re able to help you with your project during our travels together!

A bit about Emma: I was born and raised in California, and I am currently finishing my undergraduate degree in an exchange program at University College Utrecht in the Netherlands. I will be in the Netherlands until the end of December but I hope to continue my travels in Europe after I graduate. I study political science and literature, but I am also passionate about writing, art, and theater! I’m a US/Brazil dual citizen, and I speak Portuguese conversationally. Ross as well as some of our close friends from home have gotten me into outdoor adventures—particularly hiking, camping, backpacking, and some water sports. I am always excited to try new outdoor activities, I enjoy working with kids and animals, and I love to get my hands on a home DIY project.

A bit about Ross: I grew up in a small mountain town in Vermont before moving to California for a degree in Environmental Science. Growing up, I spent lots of time exploring the outdoors, and I continue to enjoy new places where I can be out in nature. I’m a UK/US dual citizen and am currently in the UK doing wetland restoration and some horticultural work. My background is in environmental work, agriculture, and outdoor recreation, but I’m excited by any opportunity to work outside and see new places with Emma!
