Hello!
My name is Raphaële, I am 28 years old. I grew up in the french countryside and currently live in Brussels. I am part of a big family that include 2 older sisters, 3 nephews and 3 nieces. I studied biology and health sciences in Dijon (France) for 5 years, and recently graduated with my PhD in immunology and cancer research that I conducted in Brussels.
After graduating, I decided to go for a year of break to slow travel and hike in as many countries as I can. I recently came back from a 3-month solo slow travel in the Balkans and Turkey, where I met amazing people and enjoyed breathtaking landscapes. Next destination is Sydney for one Month in February.
About my personality: I am an easy going, open-minded and optimistic person, with a lot of energy to give. But I also value personal time, quiet and deep conversations. I'm always up for a coffee, a walk and sharing about what you like and your passions. During my free time, I have a lot of hobbies that include sport (I play high level ultimate frisbee, hiking, padel, tennis), photography, DIY (painting, ceramics), cultural activities (art exhibitions, cinema, reading)...
My next projects and challenges:
- Participate in the Oxfam Walking Trail in May 2025 with 3 friends. It involves raising funds for the association and walking 100km in less than 24h in the Belgian Ardennes.
- 10 days hike around the Mont Blanc in June 2025
- Successfully transition from being a fundamental biology researcher to working in public health sciences and prevention in developing countries.
