Paul and Kara are a happy and energetic married couple who are taking a year off (or a year on, as they prefer to think of it) to explore. They’re mechanical engineers by education who have just left their jobs in Detroit, Michigan to pause from the daily rush. They plan to spend time traveling and volunteering, refining some neglected skills and learning some new ones. They care about the environment and enjoy it by camping, hiking, and simply observing nature’s great design. They’re looking to live a purposeful, outward-facing life together and practice being present while doing so.
