Description
Hi there, I'm Liv!
I'm really excited about joining Workaway and being able to immerse myself into experiences around the world.
I love to travel and meet new people and I hope to make life long memories and have experiences that will both fulfil me, and others.
At home I work with kids as a piano teacher and a teaching assistant in schools. I've also done a lot of work with people with learning disabilities, I'm currently undertaking my BSc (part time&online) in Psychology.
Travelling is what motivates me and makes me happy, I hope to spend my life in different places, with different people, having fun and spreading kindness- with others and the planet.Interests

More details about your skills
I'm really friendly, kind and hardworking. I love to make new friends and make meaningful connections wherever I am which is one of the main reasons that I am focussing on workaway experiences at the moment. Life experiences build a life, I want mine to be as varied and as positive as possible.
I'm social but can also work hard, fun but not a mad partier, and I'm flexible(- you kinda have to be as a traveller!) Mostly though I just want to immerse myself in different ways of life and get to experience how other people live, and what makes life LIFE for them.
If I can learn new skills or languages along the way that's fantastic. New friends? -count me in!
I've worked in hospitality before - cafe's etc - and am comfortable with customer service, keeping to timetables etc. I am also a naturally laid back person and try to keep things positive from the get- go. A huge part of travelling for me is making friends and sharing experiences with others, however I don't drink and rarely stay out super late, so I'm suer reliable.
I have a lot of experience with children as I have both taught and assisted in learning environments. (I work as a piano teacher and a teaching assistant.) I love kids and feel comfortable interacting with children of all ages, I have a laid-back attitude with children and like be approachable but caring.
I have experience with animals due to growing up with cats and dogs in my family home and later caring for them a lot. I love spending time with cats in particular and I have had very strong bonds with my cats throughout my life, I adore dogs and love to give them all of the attention they deserve! I've also helped out at friends farms before- during lambing especially- and am not scared to get my hands dirty.
I've had a lot of experience working with both adults and children with learning disabilities. I feel passionately about this work and endeavour to do more of it in the future (alongside my psychology degree, which helps me in this work). I love making connections with people regardless of any labels about abilities/disabilities and try to create trusting relationships with everyone I meet.Age

What else ...
I have a functional gastrointestinal motility disorder which means I am unable to eat as normal. Instead I have a PEG tube through which I get nutrition. I travel with supplies for this. I still enjoy cooking and tasting little bits of food!

I was here for 5 weeks and learnt so much, I miss everybody and the cats already.
The cats are all lovely, plenty of cuddles and fun playtimes. They're so well taken care of and all seem sooo happy. The dogs are also awesome and I was… read more
