I am looking to travel anywhere in Latin America from February - June 2023.

Description

I am a recent graduate looking to experience a new part of the world while solidifying my Spanish language skills. I am very interested in the non-profit sector and human rights. I am also hopping to develop my skills in documentary film. I love the outdoors and travel. I am very enthusiastic and am excited to aid a project however I can. Many of my friends have had unforgettable Workaway experiences and I can't wait to have the same.

Me gradué recientemente y quiero experimentar parte del mundo nuevo mientras solidifico mis habilidades del español. Tengo mucho interés en organizaciones sin fines de lucro y en los derechos humanos. Espero poder desarrollar mis habilidades en hacer las documentales. Me encanta la naturaleza y viajar. Estoy entusiasmada y muy emocionada por ayudar proyectos de cualquier manera posible. Muchos de mis amigos han tenido experiencias inolvidables con Workaway y no puedo esperar por la oportunidad de tener lo mismo.

I am a recent graduate from the University of Oxford where I earned a Master's degree in Latin American Studies. I also studied in Scotland where I earned my undergraduate degree in International Relations and Spanish. My academic and work experience provide me with a unique set of skills I would be happy to offer.

My studies taught me how to a great researcher, writer, and critical thinker. Additionally, I have taken many anthropology courses, and therefore understand how to respectfully enter other cultures. My Master's dissertation was about Indigenous communities in Latin America and the challenges they confront. Therefore, I am knowledgable about this as well.

I have work experience in journalism and story telling. I am interested in developing my skills in documentary film and photography, so if there is anyone who wants to share their story I would love to collaborate!

Additionally, I was the primary caregiver for my grandfather so know about taking care of elderly people. I have also spent significant time with children by babysitting and community childcare projects.

I enjoy coordinating projects and leading teams. I have led multiple community initiatives and societies. Therefore, I also understand the importance of being a team player. I am happy to do whatever necessary to move a project forward.

My hard skills are the following: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote); Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Forum, Drive, Slides); Social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter). Learning Lightroom, Photoshop, and Adobe Premiere Pro.

Overall, I love being around people and community involvement. I look forward to contributing to a project and meeting new people.

Me gradué recientemente de la Universidad de Oxford donde me hice mi maestría en estudios de Latinoamerica. Antes, estudiaba en Escocia donde recibí un título universitario en Relaciones Internacionales y Español. Mis habilidades académicos combinado con mi experiencia del trabajo me han dado una variedad de habilidades únicas que me encantaría ofrecer.

Mis estudios me enseñaron como investigar, escribir, y pensar críticamente. Adicionalmente, he tomado clases de antropología. Pues, entiendo como entrar a otras culturas en una manera respetuoso. La tesis de mi maestría fue sobre comunidades Indígenas en Latinoamerica y los retos que confrontan. Por lo tanto, tengo un buen conocimiento de eso también.

Tengo experiencia en el periodismo y la narración de cuentos también. Quiero desarrollar mis habilidades de filmar documentales y fotografía, pues si hay alguien que quiera compartir sus historias me encantaría colaborar!

Adicionalmente, fui el cuidador primario de mi abuelo, por eso yo sé como cuidar a los mayores. Por otra parte, he pasado mucho tiempo con niños cuidando de ellos y proyectos comunitarios de cuidado infantil.

Me gusta coordinar proyectos y dirigir equipos. He dirigido múltiple iniciativas comunitarias y organizaciones. Entonces, entiendo la importancia de ser un buen trabajadora del equipo. Estoy feliz de hacer cualquier cosa que sea necesaria para avanzar un proyecto en la dirección correcta. Soy sociable es muy fácil para mi conectar con personas.

He vivido en México (CDMX) por casi 2 meses estudiando español. También he vivido en Panama por 3 meses.
