Description

I'm travelling through New Zealand through 2024 (with a Working Holiday Visa) - interested in staying and working to break up my journey and thoroughly experience new areas. I’m currently in and around Lake Hayes, QT.

I'd like to combine a love of travel with working in another country. I'm creative and self-motivated, have a love for animals, art and healthy living.

I'm mainly interested in working with animals, more so horses as I'm an experienced rider - however I'm absolutely up for any animal care, carpentry work and general up-keep and maintenance of land.

I grew up visiting and staying with my aunt in Wales - I lived with and worked for her in 2023. I fell in love with this way of living on a farm and being surrounded by nature, animals and good food.
I've travelled a little over the years but got a lot more planned for the rest of my life :)

My most recent job was as a waitress/host/kitchen hand in a speciality coffee house. Although I learned a lot, particularly people skills, hospitality is not for me... so running away to the mountains seemed like the logical thing to do :)

I have 14 years horse riding experience - along with general farm/animal care knowledge from living and working on my aunt's farm in Wales. From repairing fences, log cutting/collecting, using a quadbike and trailer - feeding animals, trimming feet, dog training. I've been trusted to 'house/farm sit' solo for her.
I don't have exact training in wood-work but I've established essential skills and knowledge to know how to fix or build from scratch (see photos for random builds). My dad raised me with a mentality of ‘before we buy it, can we build our own?’

I am an artist! I used to oil paint mainly but have taken to fine line pen sketches more recently - @oliviahogg.art on instagram and
@livindeliberately on insta for my photography account :)
I also love playing guitar, reading fantasy, generally being in nature or around animals - love a good mountain hike or wild swim
Music wise i am goth but travelling means I am without the majority of my brilliant outfits :( but! I am also a country girl through and through
