  • Description

We are Tom and Tarah, travelling full-time in our motorhome with our four very friendly, chilled dogs. We love immersing ourselves in local culture, meeting people, and contributing wherever we can.

What motivates us most is community, learning new skills, and helping projects grow. Whether it’s gardening, building, caring for animals, or simply lending a hand with day-to-day tasks, we enjoy putting our energy into something meaningful.

Tom is the more adventurous one! He’s always up for adrenaline activities and never travels without his trusty mountain bike. He also works remotely as a digital designer, with experience in graphic, web, app and merchandise design. He currently works Monday - Thursday for a virtual reality platform, but will be more than happy to get his hands dirty outside of those days!

Tarah has plenty of experience with remote living, she’s lived on boats and worked in the Australian outback on cattle and sheep ranches. She’s also renovated houses, so she’s handy with a drill and hammer, and always happy to get stuck into practical projects.

Between us, we’ve cared for and fostered a wide variety of animals over the years — from dogs and cats to parrots, ducks, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, reptiles, and even farm animals like sheep and cattle. From nervous rescues to lively pups, we know how to be patient, gentle, and consistent. It doesn’t take much to phase us — we’re adaptable, calm, and find joy in helping animals (and people!) feel at home.

Now both in our mid-30s, we’d like to think we’ve gathered a little bit of common sense along the way. We’re also excited to keep learning, especially by expanding our language skills as we travel.

What makes us happiest are the simple things: sharing good meals and stories, seeing our dogs stretched out in the sun, learning traditional skills from locals, and giving our time to projects that make a difference. We’re curious, respectful, and love the chance to connect with new people while helping out.

We’re self-sufficient in our motorhome, and all we need in exchange is a safe place to park and access to electricity. Everything else, we bring with us enthusiasm, flexibility, and plenty of hands ready to help.

  • More details about your skills

Animal care – Experienced with a wide range of animals including dogs, cats, parrots, ducks, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, reptiles, sheep, and cattle. We’ve also fostered rescue dogs, helping nervous or traumatised animals gain confidence and find new homes.

Gardening & outdoor work – Comfortable with planting, digging, composting, weeding, and general maintenance. We’re happy working outdoors in all weathers.

Building & DIY – Tarah has renovated houses and is confident with tools (drill, hammer, etc.). Tom has hands-on DIY experience too — he’s laid floors, painted, and isn’t afraid of hard work or learning new techniques.

Remote & rural living – Tarah has lived on boats and worked in the Australian outback on cattle and sheep ranches, so she’s used to resourceful, practical living in remote environments.

Hospitality & service – Tarah worked in hospitality in Sydney on yachts, giving her experience with high standards of service, teamwork, and guest care.

Professional & organisational skills – Tarah previously worked in the financial industry, managing complex itineraries, logistics, events, and travel arrangements — as well as handling demanding clients and characters with patience and professionalism.

Tech & digital skills – Tom works remotely as a digital designer, with experience in graphic, web, app and merchandise design, so is able to advise on your digital presence, website, brand or anything along those lines.

Adaptability & teamwork – In our mid-30s, with varied life experience, we don’t phase easily. We enjoy problem-solving, learning new skills, and working as part of a team.

Language & culture – Keen to expand our language skills and immerse ourselves in local cultures as we travel.

We’re practical, easy-going, and hardworking — and always bring enthusiasm, energy, and a sense of humour to whatever we do.

  • What else ...

When we’re not working or helping out, we love the simple joys of life on the road and sharing our passions.

Tom is a big fan of Dungeons & Dragons and enjoys playing whenever he can. He also plays the drums and never passes up the chance to listen to or make music. Always the adventurous one, he’s happiest exploring trails on his mountain bike or trying something new that gets the adrenaline going.

Tarah is more of the storyteller — she’s starting a podcast series about dog breeds and another bedtime story series for children. She loves writing, creating, and anything that sparks imagination.

Together, we both love live music, art, and discovering local culture — whether that’s trying new food, exploring galleries, or just sitting and listening to street musicians. We’re curious travellers who enjoy learning, sharing, and finding inspiration in the people and places we meet.
