Description
I’m a curious traveler with a background in storytelling and engineering. My curiosity took me to Walt Disney World where I spent six months working in their college program. I observed in my free time at the parks the engineering in their storytelling spectaculars. This humbling experience in hospitality reminded me that true magic comes from a powerful connection to your roots. Now, through Workaway, I want to explore my connection to land and people. I want to learn from those who grow their own food, fix their own fences, raise their families, or build something from the ground up. I’m here to learn, help, and celebrate the magic of how people live, work, and care for each other. If I can leave behind a good memory and a useful handprint, I’ll be a happy camper.

More details about your skills
In past projects I’ve stained outdoor furniture, built IKEA pieces, organized cluttered spaces like bookshelves and filing cabinets, and handled deep cleaning for, bathrooms, and pools. I’m comfortable lifting and moving heavy items and can measure precisely when hanging art or helping with small building projects.
Creatively, I’ve studied piano for years and can teach basic music notation and keyboard technique. I also love to cook and can make full meals from any ingredients with no recipe needed.
From my background in engineering, I’m comfortable helping with planning, budgeting, measuring, and drafting simple schematics for projects like decks or furniture layouts.
I haven’t yet tried plumbing or electrical work, but I’m eager to learn. I pick things up quickly and take pride in a job well done.

What else ...
I love learning fashion design and sewing, especially 1940s-era styles. I have a deep interest in family history — old photos, letters, and the stories behind them. I’m a huge space exploration nerd. I love jazz, classical, and Chicago house music. I also enjoy drawing, DJing, coding in Python, and getting lost in science fiction and fantasy.
