Description

Hi! My name is Nichika from Japan! I'm studying in the Netherlands as an exchange student.

I love traveling, and so far I’ve visited Vietnam, South Korea, the Philippines, Thailand, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, and the UK. While studying abroad in Europe, I hope to discover even more countries. What I enjoy most about traveling is not only the culture and food, but meeting new people and learning about their values, backgrounds, and the unique ways they grew up.

In Japan, I was a university student and worked for almost four years in both a restaurant and an after-school childcare center.
Because my father is a mountain guide, I grew up surrounded by nature—hiking, playing in rivers, and spending time outdoors felt completely natural to me. I also love animals, and I’m always happy to share anything you’d like to know about Japan!

Since I’m studying abroad and have the chance to try new things, I decided to take the leap and join Workaway. I’m excited to meet new people, live together, and share the small joys of everyday life.

My name comes from the meaning of “sunlight,” and people often tell me that I’m like the sun—warm and bright. I try to live with gratitude, enjoy life, and bring a positive atmosphere wherever I go.

I’m still learning English, so I might make mistakes, but I’m very open, eager to learn, and truly looking forward to spending time with my future hosts.
