Description
We are Nick and Mallory, both 27 years old and from the UK. We have been living in Newcastle, NSW, since January 2025. In November 2025, we are planning to explore more of Australia and are excited to discover new places.
Over the last two years we have participated in 7 Workaway exchanges across the world – all of which we really enjoyed and gained great skills from, including gardening, cleaning, painting and other DIY jobs. We are excited by the opportunity to stay with local people and help out however we can with day to day tasks. We are both respectful, positive and friendly individuals, open to learning new skills and we approach tasks with enthusiasm and determination.
During the day we love being outside and enjoy activities such as hiking, kayaking and swimming. In the evening, we prefer quiet nights in playing games, watching films, reading and cooking meals.

Nick and Mallory stayed with us for about two weeks, and they were an pleasure to have around. Polite, friendly, and easy-going, they fit in effortlessly and were always willing to help out. Although they didn't have construction experience (which is common and wasn't a concern) they took on the work with a great attitude and independently.

We had an amazing two weeks teaching English at the school. Although we came into this with no teaching experience, the teachers and children were great which made our job easy and enjoyable! We helped out with the morning and afternoon classes, often assisting with an evening class as well but these were optional.

We had an amazing time staying at Sarndra's home and helping out in her lovely big garden. Our work involved a variety of tasks such as carrying building materials down to the work area, weeding, digging, tree pruning and fruit picking. Each day was different which was great. They helped me right up until 10 minutes before they left - always keen to help out.
