Hello, I'm Natasha a 25-year-old Black British women who is keen to learn about new cultures, see amazing places and expand my horizons. I'm able to bring an enthusiastic, driven and fun energy to everything that I do. People describe me as a ball of smiling energy.

I've been working within education-based NGOs and Universities for the last few years in roles focusing on delivering projects on equality and inclusion. I am also a professional DJ and curator working on community-based club nights and parties. I love all things music and love learning new artists and genres to explore. I also am a keen amateur photographer, taking pictures of people and events I attend to capture fun moments.

My aim with volunteering through Workaway is to learn about different cultures, and sustainability practices and provide value to the places, projects and people I'll be visiting. Escaping the British winter is just an added plus :)

I've acquired skills in social media production (due to managing my community collective's social media (@gbosanights)), photography & writing skills through hobbies.

I've also got the skills of basic mechanical work on cars, successfully doing repairs on my own vehicle regularly. The majority of my gardening skills come from taking care of house plants and a little tomato garden in my house.

I studied Chinese and International Development at University so even though I'm a bit out of practice, I am intermediate in Chinese.

I'm a DJ so I love listening, making and producing music. I've got a keen interest in learning about architecture and community cultures. I'm an excellent cook (professionally and personally). I thrive in new environments and having spent a lot of time travelling, I love making connections with people.

I want to travel to Taiwan again because I fell in love with the country whilst I was living in Shanghai and visited Taiwan on a few weekend trips. I ended up doing my university dissertation studying sustainability within indigenous communities in Taiwan. This has just fuelled my desire to come and volunteer in Taiwan and learn first-hand about farming, permaculture and sustainable practices within Taiwan. A few years ago I was ready to come live in Taiwan but due to the pandemic that fell through, so I will have to settle for this trip.
