Hello there! My name is Nahely Negrón and I'm from Puerto Rico, hence the love for beautiful beaches and warm weather. There I studied Languages (Portuguese & French) and Social Work. Eventually, I'll probably do my Master's in Community Social Work, because I really believe in the power of co-creating, mutual aid, and solidarity.

I'm not inclined to do my Masters just yet since I would like to focus on my travels, and that's where Workaway comes in handy! It's a great opportunity to travel long-term while having new experiences, learning tons of different things and being able to grow emotionally without even realizing it.

I really enjoy traveling, doing road trips, the opportunity to meet new people and through them new cultures just feels amazing. When I'm not going on crazy adventures, I'm really involved in different community based projects back at home. For example, I've been collaborating with a nonprofit organization back at home called Comedores Sociales de Puerto Rico. Also, I've had tons of experience with kids since the last few years I've been working as a tutor and babysitter for kids between 2-12years old.

I've done other projects similar to WA over the years; for example four years ago I spent my summer teaching English to kids between 4-15 in Medellín, Colombia with AIESEC and I've participated as a volunteer with Global Works multiple summers back at home, mixing cement, painting houses, and whatever else that was necessary. In previous Workaways I've stayed in farms and communities helping with the daily tasks like gardening, DIY projects and lots of cooking. That's why for me, the team work vibe is not new at all, and I actually really enjoy it!

Super eager to finally meet Guatemala and all that it's people has to offer in my next adventure. Hopefully I'll see you around!
