Hello!
I am taking some time off between jobs and heading to South America to learn Spanish and write (something I used to have as a hobby but forgot about while living a busy professional life). I also want to use this time to learn something new about myself and the world, mainly through volunteering and connecting with others. Personal growth is essential for me, and I look for lessons and meaning in everything I do.
I am the happiest in nature or with my friends. I love both alone time and good company, and I enjoy the freedom of solo travel. If you want to guess where I am, chances are that I am exploring some nature trail. In Scotland, I pack my tent, sleeping bag and several pairs of shoes (it gets wet here) and head out into the wild.
But that's just one part of me. I work as a data analyst and spend many hours looking at the spreadsheets on the screen. Therefore, an active break is very much needed!
I want to connect with the places I visit, so I want to volunteer, meet people and make this trip meaningful.
I live in Scotland, but my origin is Lithuania - a tiny green country in Northern Europe. I will start my trip in Southern Chile and move upwards, finishing in the Columbian warmth before I fly back to my home in Scotland.Interests

One of my goals of the trip is to learn Spanish. Also, I speak English fluently and happy to teach, have conversations, help with grammar (I am a bit of a geek when it comes to it, though not expert level).Skills and knowledge I'd like to share or learn

I speak fluent English and more than happy to converse and exchange the language skills. My whole career revolves around IT/tech, so I am spectacular with computers, however, I wouldn't want this to become my main activity. I have some tour guiding experience (practiced in Alaska) and I am generally excellent with people, and this is what I would like to focus my time volunteering on. I am very practical, organised and dependable with a charismatic (or so I think) personality. My hobies include writing and photography, and none of that is at a professional level, I get some praise for my skills.

What else ...
I read a lot and I am a little ashamed to admit how many TV shows I know :D I should be reading more instead. I love a good board game and a jigsaw puzzle. I am a person who loves variety, so I am open to trying anything and everything, and can get a great joy from a lot of things. I really enjoy deeper topics and cozy moments. For example, one of my favourite activities is to get up super early, meet my friend, drive or walk somewhere nice and drink coffee (that we brought from home) with spectacular view.
My unpolished talent is to guide people around. I am happy to show the city I live in to my friends and family (and I received compliments that I know so much cool stuff while doing that), but this summer I ended up guiding my coworkers around the city in Germany neither of us have been to before. But I am able to take charge, learn a thing or two (or fifteen), make a plan and consider everyone's needs to make sure no one feels left out. I am proud how well the evening went when no one really had any ideas what to do before dinner, and I am even happier to know that people really enjoyed the time. And me, I just had a lot of fun. Some more information
