Activities we are interested in:
We love travelling and the reason we chose Japan is because we fell in love with the country when we went there 2 years ago. We both hold a working holiday visa.
Our next destination:
Japan - from Nov 2025 until Sep 2026 View all
Description
We often find ourselves meeting new people, making memories, and trying new food. We love sports, especially badminton, volleyball, and basketball. Recently, we've been interested in scuba diving and hiking. I, Karl, have a knack for learning new languages. Recently, I have been learning Japanese, French, Spanish, and Portuguese, which has helped me form some solid friendships. Mykee is very much into arts and crafts, and trying out vlogging. Her bubbly personality is infectious and if you're looking for a foody buddy, she's always down to try new cuisines! It also doesn't hurt that we invite you over for dinner and try our range of dishes.
Work-wise, I (Karl) am an English professor at my local university. I work with students from all around the world and from all walks of life. Previously, I had worked in a few language schools, and prior to that, used to work in a corporate setting (bank). I have also taught children coding, DJ skills, and after class tutoring for Maths, Science, and English; I hold a vaild Working With Children Check certificate. Mykee is employed in a bank as a mortgage settlements officer. Her multitasking and attention to detail come in handy, and she prides in her work quality first and foremost. She also continues to teach casually as an after-school coding tutor to students around the ages 6-11.
As for physical skills, we have kept our part-time job of 5+ years at a local grocery store. As a night filler, we transport goods from the truck to the store using pallet jacks. We often lift products and boxes of 10-15kg and fill them in the shelves. We also clean up spills, broken glass, and dispose of fubbish and cardboard into a compactor. Mykee also works part-time at the same grocery store, in the delicatessen department. She has also work in the dairy, grocery, and check-out departments. A jack of all trades, if you will. More importantly, we always sport a smile when welcoming customers and help them find what they need around the shop.
Feel free to reach out to us for any opportunities available! We will be in Japan on a working holiday visa starting this November 2025!

I, Karl, am currently an English professor at my local university (~2 years). On the side, I also tutor IELTS/PTE/TOEIC. Most of my students have achieved the scores they've aimed for, and some, even reaching almost perfect scores! I previously taught at language schools, vocational training schools, and ESL classes (~2 years). I have more than 2,000+ teaching English. My classes are interactive, make use of technology, and chock-full of games. I work with students from all around the world and from all walks of life. I believe that my ability to speak intermediate Spanish, intermediate French, intermediate Japanese, and basic Mandarin and Portuguese further help me explain difficult concepts to my students. One of my hobbies is having weekly conversations with my online penpals around the world for me to practice Japanese, Spanish, and French. We do a 30-min call where for 15 minutes, we speak in English, and for 15 minutes, we speak another language. Mykee is also part-time employed in an after-school program to teach coding to primary school students. She teaches kids of ages 6-11 how to do block coding and how to make basic games!

What else ...
We love hanging out in small groups and having board game nights. Karl loves to organise games (as a teacher, it comes naturally) so he makes Kahoot trivia slides, while Mykee loves to organise meetups such as planning food, reservations, and drinks. We enjoy Exploding Kittens, Poetry for Neanderthals, and the occasional Charades and Taboo.
We also love watching anime, J-Drama, and K-Drama. As for sports, we play badminton and volleyball sometimes. We are keen to try new hobbies such as woodworking, pottery, or even gardening! Any chance to socialise and do some physical activity is definitely a huge plus. Besides, Karl loves to cook and Mykee loves to bake, so you'll never starve around us!

No matter what kind of work I asked them to do, they never complained — instead, they were always happy to help with a smile.
Both of them are a lot of fun to talk to, and I truly hope we get to meet again someday.
