Description
We are two Filipino-Americans hoping to explore the world through land and food! Our dream is to one day build our own home where we can grow food, swim and freedive every day, and connect with the earth and community. We are creative, adventurous, and passionate about learning and changing the world.
Mico has worked as a data scientist in the renewable energy space for 5 years. He loves movement practices, especially in the water, including open water swimming, yoga, martial arts, and sailing.
Izzy has worked as a research assistant in plant evolutionary biology for 4 years. She is a "plantita" (plant aunty) who is always ready to explore an ecosystem, have a deep talk about food systems innovations, try a new craft, or break out into dance.

Mico is fluent in Tagalog and interested in learning Bisaya. He is able to teach English and Tagalog. Izzy is an avid language learner, currently practicing Tagalog and Bisaya, and can teach English.

Izzy is experienced in plant propagation and care, in garden and greenhouse settings. She also has experience in home construction. After completing a degree in environmental science at Brown Univ, her professional expertise includes data collection and analysis, scientific education, plant identification, and wilderness trail guiding. Her training also extends to conflict mediation and community building processes. She is an avid creative writer, photographer/videographer, crocheter, and hiphop dancer. Bonus skills: cutting hair, making and styling outfits, one-handed cartwheels, IKEA furniture.
Mico is a professional researcher and communicator, specializing in big data, renewable energy and financial valuation models. He is fluent in English and Filipino. He has basic culinary training and loves to meal prep and try out new recipes. Also, he is an aspiring sketch artist, self-taught woodcarver, and loves fixing things with cleverly knotted rope. Bonus skills: lifting heavy things (probably), headstands, extra buoyant in water.

What else ...
We love League of Legends: Wild Rift! Mico is (mostly) great at chess, Izzy is not (at all). We also enjoy playing tennis and basketball together. We can dive to 15m and hold our breath for 2-3 minutes. Izzy is an aspiring b-girl working on windmills; Mico likes trying acrobatic tricks in the grass. Izzy was a varsity volleyball player, despite being pretty short. She can squat Mico.
