Description
For the last 2.5 years, I have worked as a General Service Technician in the automotive industry, fueling my love for learning new, sometimes challenging things and working in a group environment while still having individualized tasks. I love to laugh and have fun while meeting goals and striving to improve in whatever I'm learning or practicing. I'm very goal-oriented and love the sigh of relief after accomplishing difficult things. I am looking for a slight break from the industry before moving to Florida to continue working on my career and personal goals. This brought me to the workaway world - I'd love to spend time reconnecting with nature and myself during my hiatus! My goal in the next 10 years is to have a homestead where I care for smaller farm animals (and hopefully a horse or two!) and tend to a large garden that will contribute to most meals we cook! I'd love to board dogs (I've been dog-sitting since I turned 16!), refurbish furniture, and work on cars in my spare time on the homestead! So learning about anything relating to these goals would be Wonderful - I'm mostly interested in homesteading, farming/gardening, and raising farm animals/ possibly livestock!

I am always interested in conversing with members of the deaf community to continue to practice my signing - I'm a bit rusty after not practicing for a while! I have been trying to learn Spanish on my own and have been looking for ways to focus on it more heavily and learn quicker!

Growing up I was always trailing my Dad wherever he went - in the garage putting pads and rotors on the Camry, to one of his many rental properties to help with demolition, yard work, painting, light electrician work, and learning just about anything else he would tolerate my incessant questions about. All of that has blossomed into an active attitude of capability - with a little instruction or direction about something new I can understand expectations and work to hone new skills. I am also detail-oriented, loving to have things organized, in their place, and my space clean.

Growing up in Minnesota there was a better chance than not of me ending up on ice skates - I started playing hockey at 6 years old and haven't stopped since - playing into college and now pickup games! I also played softball in high school, when I wasn't on the ice! I enjoy reading, I can definitely cook but how often I do it is a different story, I also enjoy hanging out with my cat - Scott (who will be staying with family while I work away!) and just learning about life - developing new thoughts and ideas about the world!
