Description
Hello all. I've been living in my van in New England since June and I've finally decided it's too cold to hang out here any longer! Now I just want to head down to the Caribbean and learn to spearfish.
I'm motivated by-in-large by my inability to sit still for very long, and whether that is a product of a love for adventure or a catalyst for it, it means I can't simply sit on a beach for a week as a vacation. I like to explore and work hard, and I have useful skills to contribute, and I don't have a lot of money! So I would like to find a way to combine all of this and take a working vacation of sorts.
Ideally I'd like to find a boat to sail around on, but I'm not too picky and would do just about aything that will take me near the ocean.Languages

I would love to get better at Spanish, I've gone on and off trying to learn it so I'm still pretty bad, but you know what they say about immersion.. I am a native English speaker, so that's really all I have to bring to the table, but if it's helpful to you I will do what I can!Skills and knowledge I'd like to share or learn
Some knowledge of:
DIY and building projectsGardeningCreating/ Cooking family mealsAble to teach about:
General MaintenanceMore details about your skills
I work as a sort of punch-list contractor at home, meaning I know how to most of the home-renovation type of skills with some proficiency, though for the most part I'm just a solid carpenter with a handful of other miscellaneous skills.
In addition, I grew up on a family-run boatyard, and taught sailing for 5 years from the ages of 17-21. As a result, everything related to boating I know pretty well, both sailing and maintenance. I have my PADI certification (although I would probably need a refresher - I haven't gone in a couple years), my Level 2 Sailing Instructor certification, and a Boaters license in the state of Florida. The only thing I'm lacking is much time at sea, but that's something I'd like to change!
Finally, I was a gardener for a couple years, and I have a degree in mechanical engineering, for whatever that's worth - I never really used it. I'm a pretty good cook too!Age

What else ...
I'm pretty active. I like to swim, climb, explore, and just generally run around. I also love to sit down to a hand of cards in the evening, or just chat, listen to music, nothing too unusual!
