Hello workaway community!
I’m Marijana, a 25-year-old half-Czech, half-Croatian girl, and I’m currently taking a few months off work. I’m really excited to find volunteer opportunities where I can meet amazing people, contribute to meaningful projects, and learn about sustainable ways of living in beautiful places. 🌱
A little about me: I’m super lively, talkative, and love spending time with others. I enjoy organizing fun events and creating positive energy wherever I go. In my free time, I stay active by doing gymnastics, acro yoga, and bachata, and I love going to cultural events like theater shows and concerts. 🎭
I have experience organizing events, working in international environments, and working with kids, which has helped me develop great teamwork and communication skills. I’m also really organized and detail-oriented, which I think will be helpful for any event planning or coordination. I have experience with running social media, mostly instagram.
I speak Croatian, Czech, English, and a bit of German, and I’m always open to learning new languages.
I’m excited about the possibility of joining interesting projects and making a positive impact together. ✨
I spent September 2025 at the dog shelter near Tortosa, Protectora Arca in Spain 🇪🇸 🐾. I lived in a caravan and loved being in nature and taking care of the dogs and cats.
Two weeks in October I stayed at the holistic centre near Tarragona where I practiced yoga and meditation, lived in a community in the mountains and helped with maintaining of the centre, such as painting. 🧘🏻♀️

I have experience with organizing different types of events, I can help with managment of all kinds of projects. Last two years I spend working in Marketing agency as Production and Events Manager.
Volunteer work is not foreign to me - I spent lots of my time doing working for children, I have orgainized children camps, family days, celebrations and various programs. During my studies I have also volunteered in Erasmus Student Network, where I got used to working in the international environment.
Regarding my studies, I have finished bachelor in South Slavonic and Balkan studies. I can fluently speak Czeck, Croatian and English, I can speak a bit of German as well.

I feel in love with the shelter immediately. Originally I was supposed to stay only for six days but Jan and Carlen were so nice and they made it possible for me to stay for a whole month and get the best of this experience.
