Description
Hello!
I am Marie, 22 years old and from Italy. I used to study in the Netherlands and am about to start my Gap Year to travel and explore new places and activities. I am a very curious and social, always search contact with my friends but also with new people and I love to listen to other people's stories. I am also a fanatic rock climber - my favourite hobby - and hiker and generally it just makes me happy if I am in nature. I love to be outside 24/7, which is one of the reasons why I wanted to escape student life for some time and take the possibility to do more things on the ground and in open air. I often try to catch a moment on my analogue camera, a type of photography that I found works so well for me because it makes me appreciate the uniqueness of the second I look into the camera. On my journey I want to be more in the moment and take any challenges as a chance to broaden my horizon.Interests

Ich would love to learn Spanish and hope to pick up some Spanish basics before the start of my journey. On my journey I would love to improve those skills then. I would also love to help someone with learning a language I speak. The best I could help with German, but also English and Italian are fine.Skills and knowledge I'd like to share or learn

The most work-experience I have is definitely with kids. Every summer I teach kids how to rock climb and we go swimming together as well. This helped me to take on a lot of responsibility while also giving trust: I realised how much even the smaller kids can already do on their own and how well they already know how to take risks.
Apart from that, I have experience in service, so I learned how to cooperate with others and make people feel welcome.
Sometime I help family or friends on their farms and working on the ground is something that makes me happy. One summer for example I helped doing the hay on a mountain farm in a neighbouring valley.
I think I am quite creative when it comes to finding solutions for a problem or to invent something new. I never studied anything technical but I have always been curious about engineering stuff. As a kid, I also loved to built tree houses. In general I have a fascination for things you can built and create on your own. I don't shy back of doing manual labor - especially outdoors.
Cooking is another thing that I love and appreciate. Home-grown fruits and vegetables are of course the best to cook with. But I think as a student I got in general quite inventive when it comes to cooking tasty low-budget meals and not get bored of one thing.
I also love to organise and plan, and I am often the person who coordinates an activity between friends. Also when doing my summer job with the kids I have to organise the daily activities and travel with them around my region with public transport.
I grew up in a bilingual region of Italy and got a feeling for different languages since I am small. I speak German, Italian, English and French fluently and appreciate using them all regularly. In the Netherlands, I also picked up some dutch. I like to understand what is happening around me and be able to contribute to conversations in peoples native language. I am planning to learn Spanish soon as well.Age

What else ...
I love animals!
I have a dog that lives with my family in Italy and I appreciate spending time with her and walking her every time I go back. I grew up with here, used to go hiking together and she was a very big part of my youth. In my family we also had rabbits and hamsters. I general appreciate most animals and also just love to observe wild animas like deers. I sometimes did dog-walking in the Netherlands because I missed animals in my live.
I also love any type of social games such as werewolf, where everyone takes on a role and plays in a team.
I really like any type of sports. Climbing the most but also team-games like soccer or volley or the solitude of going for a run. Some more information
