Description

Hi! I am Manuela and I’m 26 years old. I live in Viña del Mar, Chile, where I'm studying medicine (only a few months left to be a doctor!). I’m Chilean-Dutch and have experience living in different countries: I lived 4 years in the Netherlands and I did a school exchange in Germany. I can speak Spanish, English, German and Dutch... and learnt Italian while doing a workaway there!

I took a gap year in 2020 (I wanted a break because studying medicine can be quite demanding) and did a lot of workaways in Europe. I had an amazing experience as an au pair in Italy, Switzerland, Spain and in the Netherlands. I also tought Spanish in Poland, took part of workshops in Germany, cooked for a family in Sweden, worked at an airbnb in Sicily, worked at the reception of a hostel in Puglia... I loved the experiece, I was lucky to live in beautiful cities, learnt so much, got to know myself better, met amazing people I'm still in contact with... it was the best year of my life so far :)

When I came back to Chile I decided to be a host, to give other workawayers the opportunity to see my country and give them the best experience possible!! I hosted 7 workawayers so far during the past 3 years. So I also have the experience from that side.

Now before starting to work next year I want to take some time off to travel again, visit a new country, learn about other cultures, make new friends! :)

- I speak Spanish, English, Dutch and German. I can speak Italian too, after 5 months of workaway there! I want to learn French now.

What else ...

I´m an active person, I love to run, go every day for a walk and like hiking, cycling.. I want to learn new things, now I would love to learn how to ski!!
I like to cook, specially sweet things, and I would love to learn how to make dishes from other countries.
I think the beach is one of my favorite places. To do long walks by the sea, watching the sunset... But after being in beautiful places in Switzerland, I started to love the mountains and the snow :)
I am passionate about languages, I started to learn Italian and I love it! I want to improve my Dutch, German and English as well.

I'm always ready for a new adventure!! :)
