Hey guys!

My name is Mai. I'm a passionate traveler, an adventure seeker & a creative designer .

I have found my passion to travel when I finished school and went on my first work and travel trip to Australia back in 2014 where I lived in a camper, working on farms and in restaurants. Since then I have lived & worked in Canada, learned surfing in Morocco, hiked volcanoes in Guatemala, tried all kinds of street food in Thailand, jumped into cenotes in Mexico, went on a search for giants and fairies in Iceland, got blessed in a temple in Cambodia, experienced all kinds of outdoor sports in Austria and explored many more countries around the world ...I like to travel and meet people, embracing cultures and culinary delights as much as possible.

My intention is to go further and get to know the cultures, foods and traditions every country has to offer. 

I love to meet people, share stories, learn new skills, have deep conversations, enjoy life and explore this beautiful world we live in.

I have a bachelors degree in communication design and am currently working as a global marketing manager & graphic designer for an outdoor brand, while also being a self-employed freelance communication designer & social media manager.

Four years ago I started volunteering as a designer and then creative director for an arts & culture magazine from which we now founded an association, supporting art, music & culture in the Rhine-Main-Area in Germany.

In addition to that I work closely with various music collectives organizing parties, working door/bar/awareness shifts and organizing DJ time tables, activities and exhibitions. As a freelancer I also worked for a hip hop & jazz music label where I did all kinds of design work.

Also, I have at least 12 years of experience working in hospitality. Since my parents own a restaurant, I started helping out when I was really young and kept working there as a server and kitchen hand after school and during my time at university. When I started traveling I used those skills to do Work & Travel in Australia & Canada, while also trying out different kinds of jobs everywhere I went.

I have a wide range of interests and am very eager to learn new skills & languages.
