Description
Hi there, I'm Mack! I'm a 24 year old recent graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison where I studied Wildlife Ecology and Indigenous Studies. I am driven by caring for the land and wild beings, advocating for issues relating to social justice and the climate crisis. I love writing, connecting with people, working with horses, and reading. My soul is happiest when I am working hard outside and learning new things. I enjoy communal living and I really value respect, kindness, and communication.
I have been working seasonally for a few years between Alaska and Wyoming, and I am excited to find a region that I can imagine myself settling into. My intention as a Workawayer is to experience a new place and feel integrated into a community, even if only for a short time. I hope this will help me decide where I feel drawn to and where I might want to start building my own life around. I'm excited to get to spend time together!

I am skilled in many tasks related to farm, ranch, and barn care. I am familiar with operating power tools and different types of vehicles, including hauling trailers. I am very comfortable around horses and other animals. Above all, I am always excited to learn - coachable, independent, organized, and driven.

I am always practicing my bird, plant, and tree identification skills. I love moving my body - hiking, yoga, biking, running, riding horses. I love playing chess, card games, and enjoy sharing a beer or a glass of wine. I also value quiet time for my writing and reading. I am a huge coffee lover and morning is my favorite time of the day. I do enjoy cooking and baking, but am always practicing my skills/creativity in these areas. Also, I have a major sweet tooth. I value being able to talk on the phone with my long-distance partner, friends, or family once a day or so. I am in my flow state when I am working with horses.
