Description
We would describe ourselves as enthusiastic and adventurous young adults from the Netherlands. We met during our time as students, doing student-volunteer work together. Here we connected over our shared love for nature, wandering around and travelling. Going on trips where we get to see new cultures, meet new people and explore different parts of the world is what we enjoy most. On a daily basis, we enjoy boardgames, going for walks and cook a nice meal for ourselves. We've got a down-to-earth and open attitude, where we prefer to take life as it comes instead of planning the next ten years. Between us, Maaike is rather creative, whereas Gert-Jan prefers practical DIY projects. Although we both like to have a filled schedule, on a random evening without anything planned Maaike will often read a book, where Gert-Jan will likely take his mountainbike to go out for a ride. Together, we function greatly as a team, which is something we value largely.

We are both experienced in household DIY and repairs. Gert-Jan has helped with the maintenance of cabins in Norway and has worked in a construction store for four years. We've organised numerous events for a volunteer organisation, both small and larger. We enjoy working with people and being able to assist where needed. Although one specific skill doesn't necessarily stand out, we would describe ourselves as jacks of most trades. However, we are eager to learn new skills to help out!
