Hi, I'm Lola. I am a student in the UK, adopted by my family from China as a baby.

I love the stimulation and learning that comes from travelling to other countries that have cultures and lifestyles that are very different to my own. I want to try and understand life from their perspective as much as possible and find the common human connection.

I am kind-hearted, conscientious, confident, sociable, practical-thinking and have a can-do attitude and a good sense of humour. Whatever task I am given, I want to do the best job I can!

This was the highlight of my gap year! George and Carin are such wonderful hosts and I got to try so many new experiences, from feeding chickens to driving a tractor and lots of gardening. Teaching at the school has been an incredible experience! This was my first time doing workaway and my first time abroad alone so I was quite nervous but as soon as I arrived I felt very welcomed.
