My name is Leila, and I'm a Scottish girl mad about all things outdoorsy, science, animals and people. I study veterinary medicine in the UK, so would love to travel and do animal-related workaways abroad! I also am a bit of a language lover (I'm near fluent in French and would like to keep practising and learn other languages!) and am really interested in learning about other cultures and ways of life around the world :)

I am lucky enough to have had a lot of experience in animal handling and their husbandry - both large and small - particularly in the last year or so, as part of my degree in veterinary medicine (University of Edinburgh). I feel very comfortable around animals, and am well practised in their care. However, I still have a lot to learn! I am a motivated, hard worker that would love to just get stuck in, gain a lot of experience and help out as much as possible. I thrive under pressure and really enjoy working not only with animals, but with people too. If the work is outdoors - even better! and I am not afraid to put in a long shift! Outside of my life as a student and huge interest in science, I am a keen language lover and adventurer, whether it be mountaineering, cycling or wild swimming.

Despite being a full time student, I continue to work part time as a store assistant at a local supermarket and have also had experience working in a tourism office in France last summer, as a lamber at a remote Scottish farm this Spring and as a volunteer for various animal care placements over the years. I can provide references if needed!
