  • Description

I am a young at heart 48 year old that is spending time exploring the world in all its beauty for over 5 years now.
I am very interested in alternative and community living, holistic therapies, natural healing, spirituality, anthropology, numerology, energy and much much more. I have just competed my Reike level 1. I believe there is energy in every being and we are all connected :)

I am a trustworthy enthusiastic person and really love to help all different areas, learn new things and experience different cultures of which I have been privileged to be a part of in many countries.
At home i live in a shared house of artists and musicians and am always helping out with whatever their current project is. I help with the upkeep of the house, chickens, dogs and cats. I also had a full tine job which i was very sucessful in which gave me the opportunity to travel :-)

Regarding my workaway experiences, my first volunteer position was spending 6 weeks in Ecuador supporting a local charity which has set up places for young children to go whilst their parents work the streets selling their produce. The children are too young to start school so this is a great help for the parents. I am hard working and this project demanded me to leave my hostel at 7am each morning and on arrival spend my day and time giving love, creative play and help to these beautiful children which in return was extremely rewarding.
Other volunteer projects include looking after 2 rescued puma cats in a Bolivian jungle. This included helping with the upkeep of the parque for a valuable charity. There were many things to do from painting the comidor, cleaning out drains and any other household chores that needed doing Between 9am and 5pm I had the pleasure of looking after, walking, feeding and enriching the cats themselves. The parque has rescued over 25 cats from being orphaned, to bad treatment, to being made to perform in a circus. I did this for 7 weeks on 12 hour days with 1 day off a week.
I have also a volunteer as a house keeper where i cooked and cleaned for the household. The place was owned by a couple of artists so in my spare time the taught me how to do stone sculpture and make jewelry.
Another project was spending two weeks looking after Sun bears and moon bears in Cambodia again for another valuable charity. This entailed a lot of manual work which was to clean out the enclosures, prepare, enrich and feed the bears. The bears are all rescued. They have been poached, trapped in snares or even kept alive and their stomach bile used for Chinese medicine. The bears sadly cannot be released back into the wild but are living an enriched and happy life all providedby this charity.
Other volunteering included helping build an eco resort, mixing cement, mosaics, etc. Plus volunteer teaching in a few other locations my last of which was teaching English to Sri Lankan children of all ages.
I have also was worked again for another valuable charirty looking after elephants in a non riding environment. I helped build a new elephant house, prepared food and enriched these beautiful animals.
I hope when you read my profile it will convince you that i am not afraid of hard work :-)
I have just finished travelling around South East Asia and ended my time there in Sri Lanka. I was lucky enough to live with a local family just outside Thissa, close to Yala park. Again learning about their culture, sharing, learning and helping them in every way I could.

I am now back over travelling Central and south America and have already volunteered at another 3 projects which were amazing. I also spent 6 weeks living at Finca Morpho in Costa Rica which is a small tight knit nomadic regenerative, educational, experimental, permaculture, intentional community which was a great experience.

I'm now looking for a new experience where I can help, learn, share, be a part of again :-)
All things in life interest me so if i am applying i promise to give you all my help and commitment for as long as i stay with you.
Laughter comes in the package as my friends always say i always have a smile and enthusiasm in everything i do
    Thanks for reading my profile
    Jenny :)))
