Hello! I'm Li-ann and I'm from Ireland. I love travelling and experiencing new cultures, and think Workaway is the perfect way to do that. I have volunteered in several places in South East Asia, mainly in marine conservation as that is my background and passion. I love scuba diving, freediving, hiking, and meeting new people from different cultures!

This year (2024), my mum would like to join me on my adventures! Last year we went to Indonesia, Cambodia and Vietnam volunteering teaching English. Now we want to go to Central and South America and do the same again because we loved it so much :) My mum has been a music and English teacher for 35+ years so she has lots of experience, and loves working with both children and adults.

I love learning new languages as you can connect with local people on a far deeper level. I currently live in Indonesia where I am learning Indonesian and loving it. I learnt Spanish in school and would love to continue my practice in it! I am fluent in English and am a qualified ESL teacher, so can help teach English too.

I am a trained ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher, and my undergraduate degree was in Psychology. I have a Master's in Conservation Behaviour so am interested in anything that is conservation-focused. I am also a SSI Scuba Divemaster and freediver, so can help out with any underwater work too! I have worked as a model for several years, so social media knowledge has come as a bonus to that. I recently started a blog, so could help with a simple Wordpress website design, as well as writing any content or copy.

My mum has been a music and English teacher for 35+ years so she has lots of experience, and loves working with both children and adults.

I will be travelling with my Mum, who is an English teacher as well, and we would both love to volunteer! She is a brilliant English teacher, all of her students love her as she is fun and vibrant! She is very creative and we can both teach you some games. My mum is also a music teacher, so can teach you some songs as well.

I was volunteering with my mum in Karla's kindergarten for 2 weeks. We had a nice time and the children are so adorable, they take your heart in a minute. We missed them when we left!
