I'll be travelling for several months in 2025, looking for a change of pace and perspective after finishing my PhD in Sports Sciences. I'm someone who loves all things active, outdoors, but also equally enjoys good food, good books, and good discussion! I would consider myself to be respectful, easygoing, curious, environmentally-conscious, and open-minded.
To me, one of the best parts of travelling is learning about and experiencing the local culture, and I consider it a huge privilege to have these connections with people and get new perspectives. I'm looking forward to developing new skills and having different experiences :)Interests

More details about your skills
I've worked in a variety of environments, including high-performance sport, the restaurant and large-scale events industries, the federal government, and as a lifeguard, making me quite adaptable to different contexts, responsibilities, and teams. I'm able to work well independently, as well as a part of team, love to learn new skills, and handle pressure and unanticipated situations well. My educational background is a PhD in sports science, so aside from technical research, analytic, and communication skills, I'd consider myself to have a high level of initiative, curiosity, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. I like cooking and baking, have experience in graphic design, but also really enjoy physical/manual labor tasks.

What else ...
I often travel solo and couchsurfing (via BeWelcome/Trustroots) is my favourite way to meet people and have a more local experience. I also host travelers when I'm at home. My preferred style is slow travel, taking time to get a feel for the places and culture, and I'm especially drawn to destinations and experiences where I can spend lots of time in nature. Looking forward to connecting and learning :)
