Description
Hi, we're (Marie) Lena and Mona (23 and 22)!
We are roommates and friends from Berlin looking to explore after our Bachelor's in Psychology.
We have been to many European countries together, camping, staying at hostels or in group houses. Along the way, we have shared our passion for experiencing beautiful nature and diverse cities while meeting interesting people. We want to continue this journey now, which workawaying is the perfect opportunity for!
Both of us are responsible and empathetic and have experience living in shared spaces. We understand the importance of clear communication, mutual respect, and being considerate in a communal environment.

More details about your skills
Lena:
I have experience working with children aged 6 to 12, as I spent seven months at a child psychiatry clinic. During school, I also tutored younger students in Math, German, and English.
While studying psychology, I worked at a psychotherapy practice where I conducted intake interviews with patients to assess their mental health and refer them to suitable therapists. These experiences have further taught me how to communicate with people from different backgrounds in a calm, empathetic, and respectful way.
I enjoy cooking and can prepare various vegetarian and vegan meals. My vegan Bolognese is always a favorite! I'm happy to help in the kitchen, and I love learning new recipes from other cultures.
I also have a background in acting and have been part of a theatre ensemble from the age 11 till 19. After that, I supported the group as a director’s assistant and managed their Instagram and Facebook accounts, so I’m also comfortable with basic social media and creative work.
In summer 2021, I completed a Workaway stay where I helped with gardening and renovation work.
While I don’t have much experience in gardening or carpentry yet, I’m always eager to learn new skills.
Although I’m still early in my professional journey, I’m a fast learner and very motivated. I work well both independently and in a team, and I always try to approach tasks with a reliable and respectful attitude.
Mona:
I am able to learn and understand new environments quickly and then try to independently contribute to them. I also have a strong sense of community and respectful communication, making it easy for me to empathize with people around me and to get along with anyone.
I have worked in restaurants and cafés for around 2.5 years in total, which has taught me organizing and time management skills as well as the ability to politely deal with people's needs.
I am passionate about vegan food and cooking, including cuisines from all over the world. I have gotten very good feedback for it so far ;). As probably obvious, I love all animals and therefore have experience in taking care of pets. My 1.5 years of babysitting experience with two toddler siblings have also taught me lots of useful child care skills.
I have diverse interests in culture and arts, while my personal skills are focused on textile crafts (crocheting, knitting, sewing). I also learned basic craftsmanship from my handyman dad. My green thumb and big love for houseplants can be useful as well.
In general, I have always been a highly adaptable person, which I would humbly describe as a universally convenient skill.
