hello!
my name is Leah and I am 23 years old. For the past 8 months I have been travelling through Africa. These months have in particular have reaffirmed that my most exciting and fulfilling travel experiences have come from meeting new people and travelling with others from all corners of the globe. I love experiencing new cultures and living like a local as much as possible in each place I visit. I am new to work away but excuted to begin on this new journey so that I can meet more people and potentially become part of some beautiful communities :)
I have always been passionate about travelling and am really considering trying to create a lifestyle where I can explore the world backpacking but mix it with work, volunteering and studying.
Most of my work and volunteering experience is in the field of social justice. I have three years experience working for an Irish charity supporting Dublin’s homeless community. I also have some bar experience, most recently at Kilifi New Year festival in Kenya which was awesome!Interests

I have great people skills and really feel energised being around others. I volunteered in social justice projects for the past 7 years and have considerable experience working with various vulnerable groups including individuals experiencing homelessness, displaced persons and refugees, adults with intellectual disabilities, children and the elderly. As a result I have strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, as well as an ability to be flexible and adapt quickly to any situation I am confronted with.
I am (maybe) obsessed with organisation.. I love to sort things and have great attention to detail. I have many years of experience working in office admin and have gained a lot of organisational and tech skills from this work.
I spent the majority of my teenage years babysitting and have a good bit of experience working with children. I am active and pretty fit, so always do my best to match the energy kids put out :)
I have some experience with farm work and feel my best when I am outdoors in nature and with animals (especially dogs)Age

What else ...
I really love being active - back home I play field hockey and generally have gym, hiking and running to keep up personal fitness! In my spare time I like to read, do some baking and listen to podcasts. I love a good boogie, the sillier the dancing the better! I love languages and it would be a dream to spend some time working or living somewhere where I can practice the one I already have or improve one that I want to learn!

Super varied work. Every day there is a new project happening. Building, renovating, painting, preparing for guests, cooking for the team, field/farm work of all sorts and so many random once offs. I learned so much and once you settle in there’s so much flexibility and freedom in choosing what you… read more
