  • Description

Hi there! Our names are Leah and Mia and we are university students from Canada currently studying abroad in London for the semester. Since arriving in Europe we’ve loved travelling around and exploring as much as possible, and we’re hoping to continue discovering new places during our last two or three weeks abroad in May. While we’ve really enjoyed visiting beautiful cities as tourists, we would also love the opportunity to experience a more authentic side of European life.

Through Workaway, we’re hoping to spend some time living and working with locals, learning more about the culture, daily routines, and way of life that you don’t always see when travelling quickly from place to place. We think it would be an amazing opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the cultures we’ve only begun to experience while travelling.

We are both friendly, responsible, and hardworking people who enjoy meeting new people and helping out wherever we can. We also both love animals and spending time in nature. Mia especially loves horses—she has worked with them extensively back home and was even a horse riding coach for kids. Leah also loves caring for animals and would be very happy helping with pets or farm animals.

We’re both great with kids and have lots of experience working with them. Leah has worked as a camp counselor and tennis instructor teaching children, and Mia has coached kids through horseback riding. These experiences have helped us develop patience, responsibility, and a fun, positive approach when working with young people.

We currently live together in London and work really well as a team, so we’re very used to sharing spaces and keeping things tidy and respectful. We’re both adaptable, easygoing, and happy to help with whatever is needed—whether that’s helping around the house, assisting with outdoor projects, caring for animals, helping with childcare, or simply being an extra pair of hands.

In our free time we love exploring local markets, spending time outdoors in parks or at the beach, and staying active through different kinds of exercise. We enjoy discovering new places, trying local foods, and making the most of being outside whenever we can.

We’re really excited about the opportunity to exchange stories, learn from our hosts, and experience daily life somewhere new. As our time abroad comes to an end, we’re hoping for one last adventure before returning home—one that allows us to immerse ourselves in a place and connect with people in a way that’s more meaningful than typical tourist travel.

As friends who already live together, we work really well as a team and are able to help efficiently with tasks. Having two of us also means we can often take on projects together and bring lots of positive energy to the experience. We would love the chance to contribute positively to your home or project, share our energy and enthusiasm, and learn from the experience along the way.

  • More details about your skills

We are both enthusiastic, reliable, and hardworking helpers who are happy to contribute wherever needed. Because we currently live together, we are very used to sharing spaces, staying organized, and working well as a team.

    Childcare & working with kids
We both have extensive experience working with children and would be very comfortable helping with childcare, supervision, and activities. Leah has worked as a camp counselor and tennis instructor teaching kids, while Mia has coached children in horseback riding. Through these experiences we’ve developed patience, responsibility, and the ability to create fun and engaging environments for kids.

    Animal care
We both love animals and are very comfortable caring for them. Mia has significant experience working with horses and coaching young riders, so she is confident around horses and other animals. We also both have dogs and cats at home, so we are familiar with feeding routines, daily care, and giving animals the attention they need. We would be very happy to help with pets, farm animals, stable work, or other animal-related tasks.

    Outdoor help
We both enjoy spending time outdoors and would be glad to assist with gardening, outdoor maintenance, nature projects, or general help around a property. We’re active people and are happy to help with physical or hands-on tasks.

    Household help
We are also happy to help with everyday household tasks such as cleaning, organizing, cooking assistance, and keeping shared spaces tidy. We are respectful of shared living environments and always aim to be considerate and helpful members of the household.

    Cooking & kitchen help
We enjoy trying new foods and would be happy to help with meal preparation, cooking simple meals, or assisting in the kitchen. We also enjoy learning about local foods and contributing to shared meals.

Overall, we are adaptable, quick learners, and always willing to help wherever we are needed. Having two of us also means we can work efficiently together and bring a positive, supportive energy to any project or home.
