Hello, my name is Kat!

I currently live and work in London as a gallery assistant. I am looking for an adventure this summer/autumn, to be in nature for a bit and get involved in a project which is why I joined workaway.

I enjoy being active and love exploring and hiking - I am excited to travel more and discover new places, but also get to know areas more thoroughly.
I worked with horses for 4 years , cleaning out stables, feeding them, turning them out into the paddocks, and exercising them on occasion. I am a confident rider and would love to spend some time around them again. I enjoy gardening, and would value learning insights and skills as well as helping out.

More details about my language interests
I speak French and would be interested in becoming more fluent in the language. I can also speak some Czech (but understand it better). I know a bit of Italian, Spanish, and German, and would enjoy just generally improving my languages overall.

I have a lot of practical skills, my experience building exhibitions has given me DIY skills and problem-solving abilities. I enjoy outdoor work including helping my parents in their big garden.

I have worked in stables for 4+ years, cleaning stables and the yard, feeding horses x2 a day, turning out horses into the paddock, exercising horses on occasion. I used to work with cavalry horses (they only took part in parades, I included a photo of one!), but it was mostly a riding and livery stables. I am a confident rider and would love to spend some time around them again!

I enjoy cooking and learning new recipes, although I would prefer not to have regular cheffing responsibilities! More as an opportunity to share and socialise.

I am a creative person, and would be up for any kind of creative based projects or tasks. I enjoy languages - I speak French but would love to improve. I speak a bit of Czech but understand it better as a result of living in a bilingual family. I know bits of Italian, German, and Spanish - any improvement in these languages would be a bonus for me, and I know that total cultural immersion is the best for learning!

I love being around people, I am very sociable and can get along with a lot of different personalities.
