  • Description

Hi! I’m Kirra — 24, from the Central Coast of NSW, and currently at a bit of a turning point in life. I’ve just about finished my Bachelor of Education after 3/4 years of study, and now that chapter’s coming to a close, I feel like it’s time to get out there and actually live a bit — not just jump straight into the next thing.

I’ve always had this quiet (and sometimes loud) itch to travel — to really see the world, not just pass through it. I want to meet people, be useful, get my hands dirty, and throw myself into new cultures, places, and experiences. I’m not someone who waits around for things to happen — when I want something, I make it happen, and that’s exactly where I’m at right now.

    Why I’m Travelling
After a few solid years of study and working part-time jobs around it, I’ve realised I don’t want to jump into full-time teaching just yet. I want to learn in a different way — by seeing how other people live, by stepping outside what’s familiar, and by being part of something that feels real and grounded. I also think it’ll make me a better educator down the track. Real-world experience is just as valuable as what you learn in a classroom, maybe even more.

    What I’m Like
I’m super easy to get along with, happy to help out however I can, and pretty adaptable. I’ve worked with kids a lot (naturally, because of my degree), but I’ve also had casual jobs in hospitality, cleaning, retail, and event work — so I’m no stranger to hard work or weird hours.

I love being outdoors, being around people, and also having the occasional quiet moment with a book or journal. I love music, walking, art, and learning new skills. I can cook (some things better than others), I’m happy to muck in with any jobs that need doing, and I’m not afraid of a challenge.

    What I’m Looking For
Mostly, I just want to experience something different. I’m open to all kinds of opportunities — whether that’s helping with childcare, supporting families, getting involved in eco projects, hospitality, farm work, or just lending a hand where needed. I’m keen to contribute and learn along the way.

If you think I’d be a good fit for what you’re doing — or even just someone you’d like to have around — I’d love to chat more.
    Thanks for reading!

  • More details about your skills

Over the past few years, I’ve built up a mix of skills through study, work, and life experience — I’m a hands-on learner and always happy to give something a go.

    Education & Childcare:
Throughout the use of my degree, I’ve spent the last few years working closely with children of all ages in school settings. I’ve done teaching placements, tutoring, and volunteering at school holiday programs. I’m confident helping with routines, learning activities, play-based learning, or just keeping kids engaged, safe and happy. I genuinely enjoy being around kids and creating calm, fun environments for them. (Being the fun cool auntie doesn’t hurt either)

    Hospitality & Cleaning:
I’ve worked part-time throughout uni in hospitality and cleaning roles — so I’m used to early mornings, busy environments, and high standards. I also worked as a bar manager in England on my student exchange so I am comfortable with pouring pints and making drinks. I can help with general cleaning, making beds, washing, dishes, basic food prep, or keeping things tidy and running smoothly. I take pride in doing a job well, even if it’s a behind-the-scenes one.

    Communication & People Skills:
Because of my teaching background and work experience, I’ve become a good communicator — clear, respectful and adaptable to different personalities and situations. I get along with most people easily, and I’m always happy to listen, learn and contribute.

    Other handy things:
    • Comfortable with animals (I’ve grown up with pets and spent time around farm animals)
    • Can use tools for basic gardening or property maintenance
    • I enjoy creative tasks — art, writing, photography, decorating, etc.
    • Quick learner with tech and practical systems
    • Happy working solo or as part of a team
    • Reliable, calm under pressure, and good at taking direction

While I might not be an expert in every area, I bring a positive attitude, common sense, and a willingness to learn — and I’m not afraid to jump in and figure things out as I go.
