Description
Hello, my name is Kim. I’m 20 years old and currently doing a voluntary social year (in Germany its called FSJ), working with underage refugees. After my FSJ, starting in March 2026, I plan to spend a year in Canada on a self-organized work and travel stay. My journey will begin on March 1, 2026, in Toronto. It will be my first time abroad on my own, and I’m really excited and looking forward to it.

More details about your skills
I’m a bit of a multi-talent. I’m very independent, proactive, and not afraid to take on new challenges. On a very practical level, I know how to run a household – cooking, cleaning, and handling whatever comes up is second nature to me.
I also have strong social skills. For the past year (and for another five months to come, as I mentioned in my profile), I’ve been working full time in a social institution with young refugees. This means I’m very used to handling difficult or challenging situations calmly and constructively – it’s simply part of my everyday work. At the same time, I’m a very open and extroverted person. I don’t shy away from conversations – quite the opposite: I really enjoy connecting with new people, sharing stories, and learning from them. I tend to dive right in with a positive attitude and a good dose of humor.
On top of that, I know my way around a coffee machine. Having worked in four different cafés, I can make a really good cup of coffee – with a heart or even a tulip on top. ;)
I also run a small software company back in Germany where I develop applications, build websites, and maintain IT systems. But don’t worry – I’m not the stereotypical nerd.
