Description
Hi! My name is Kian, I’m a 31 year old from London, UK.
I’ve worked in a variety of environments, including hostels (cleaning and reception), a surf school, language schools, kitchens, and as a bar manager and barista. I’m very comfortable helping with cleaning, hospitality, customer service, cooking, and general maintenance. I love working with people and always try to bring a positive and hard-working attitude.
I studied Philosophy and Literature at university and in my free time I enjoy playing guitar and piano, reading, and learning about different cultures and languages.
Japan has fascinated me since I was young — especially Aikido, Shinto traditions, and Mukashibanashi! I also love Japanese food, especially fish dishes like ikura! I have been studying Japanese and taking lessons since September to prepare for this trip. Over 400 hours of japanese study so far! I’m very excited to practice speaking Japanese and experience daily life in Japan.
What I love most about Workaway is the sense of community — how quickly people can feel connected while working and sharing a life together.
I’m respectful, tidy, adaptable, and always happy to help wherever I’m needed. I would love to contribute to your project and learn from you while experiencing authentic Japanese life.

こんにちは！ロンドン（イギリス）出身のキアンと申します。31歳です。
これまでにホステル（清掃や受付）、サーフスクール、語学学校、キッチン、そしてバーのマネージャーやバリスタとして、さまざまな環境で働いてきました。接客や清掃、簡単な料理、一般的なメンテナンスなどのお手伝いには自信があります。人と関わる仕事が大好きで、いつも前向きで一生懸命な姿勢を大切にしています。
大学では哲学と文学を学びました。自由な時間にはギターやピアノを弾いたり、本を読んだり、異文化や言語について学ぶのが好きです。
子どものころから日本にとても興味がありました。特に合気道や神道の伝統、昔話などに惹かれています。日本の食べ物も大好きで、特にイクラのような魚料理が好みです。今回の旅に向けて、2023年9月から日本語を勉強しており、これまでに400時間以上学習しています。日本語を実際に話して、日常生活を体験するのがとても楽しみです。
